If there’s one thing I refuse to leave the house without, it’s a lip product on hand to either hydrate or add a tint of color to the lips. After catching sight of Reese Witherspoon‘s hot-pink lip color at the Something From Tiffany’s red carpet premiere, I’m planning to go with more than just a tint of color for the rest of the holiday season. I’m officially convinced bright pink lipstick will do just right for any and all of my holiday outings to come.
The Hello Sunshine founder arrived at the Los Angeles premiere of the film on Tuesday, November 29, wearing a midi-length black dress and black point-toe heels and — the star of the show — a vivid pink lip color. (Witherspoon is a co-producer of the romantic comedy, which is set to debut on Amazon Prime Video on December 9.) Her pink shade is a fun alternative to all of the burgundies, reds, and sparkles we tend to pull out and swipe on this time of year. Witherspoon’s pink shade is more understated and less expected, but it’s still just bright enough to make for a festive look all on its own.
I’ll be taking a page from Witherspoon’s playbook, pairing my own bright pink lipstick with a subtle smoky eye — it does the lip color justice by letting it stand out — and pink blush that complements the lipstick and ties the whole look together. Burberry Kisses Matte in Bright Rose No.42 and Maybelline Green Edition Butter Cream Lipstick in Floral are good dupes for Witherspoon’s hot pink lip color. And of course, she finished off the look with her signature tousled waves.
